Heater Process Study

EnviroPro works with GST (Great Southern Technologies) and InServ to offer direct fired heater evaluation, design, and fabrication. We directly supply refineries and petrochemical plants with new heaters, and work with these facilities to identify and recommend solutions to current heater performance problems.

As a one stop solution provider, we offer the benefits of in-house field construction capabilities, competitive pricing, and fast response. We offer methodologies that have been developed from hands-on field and construction experience, black oil process knowledge, and heater component expertise. Our heater process studies have proven beneficial for:

  • All refinery heaters including licensed heaters
  • All petrochemical heaters such as ethylene crackers, methanol, ammonia and hydrogen reformers
  • Hot oil heaters

We provide engineering services that meet specific needs using a phased approach:

Phase One

  • Heater Design
  • Heater Analysis
  • Scope Definition
  • Constructability Planning

Phase Two

  • Detail Design GA Package included Material BOM
  • Steel Details
  • Complete Procurement Document Development

Phase Three

  • Component Commissioning
  • Steel, Refractory, & Coil Fabrication

Phase Four

  • Field Installation

Our heater process studies are highly advantageous in a variety of situations. Examples of applications that we have served include:

  • Heater is being used for different purposes than originally designed
  • Duty needs to be increased
  • Need to prevent bottlenecking somewhere in plant or refinery
  • Upgrade burner ignitors and/or BMS is desired
  • Heater is not operating as efficiently as it should
  • Convection section plugged
  • Tubes cokes or coking regularly
  • Stack damper is not operating properly or is non-existent
  • Burners are clogged or damaged
  • Fuel being is used different than what the burner was designed to use
  • Downtime to decoke is excessive and too frequent
  • Decoke duration is longer than it should be
  • Burner flames are impinging on tubes
  • Heater has experienced an uncontrolled explosion

Through our strategic partnerships, EnviroPro is knowledgeable and fully equipt to meet your heater process study needs.
